Beyonce: ‘We will unite 4 marriage equality!’

On Wednesday, March 27th, 2013

Pop diva Beyonce showed her support for gay marriage on Tuesday night joining many celebrities who have already signaled signs of support. As reported by Rolling Stone on Wednesday, Beyonce echoed one of her classic songs in delivering a hand written message via Instagram simply stating, “if you like it you should be able to put a ring on it.”

Beyonce also adopted the Human Rights Campaign’s red equal sign logo to go along with her message. With a huge gay following, the singer along with her husband Jay-Z has shown much support for gay marriage. Back in May, Jay-Z told CNN in an interview back in May that he “thought it as something that was still holding the country back”. What he was referring to is the discrimination against same-sex couples. He believes it is no one’s business and everyone should have the right to love who they love.

Another of Beyonce’s messages rivaled Jay-Z’s comment about the country being held back. In the second part of her original message she wrote: “We will unite 4 marriage equality!”

As the Supreme Court heads into the second day of two pending cases on gay marriage, it is clear that the LGBT community and supporters are coming together in the name of equality. No matter what the outcome, there has been a symbol of unity as demonstrated by the sea of HRC red equal sign’s on popular social networks like Facebook and Twitter. As Beyonce said in her second message via Instagram, “It’s about time”.

About - Tarringo T. Vaughan always believed he had a love affair with literature. One of the first pictures he saw of himself was of him at maybe the age of three or four year’s old sitting with a book in his hand. But for Tarringo, growing up in the depths of the inner city both in Boston, MA and Springfield, MA made him believe that expression through the literary voice was un-cool and unattainable. As a very quiet and shy child he learned it became very valuable in his self expression. Born in 1976, Tarringo was the first child, grandchild and nephew in a family that had grown accustomed to struggle. His mother was a teenager who quickly lost the support of my father who today he knows very little of. These aspects of his life triggered the inspiration of his pen.
