Kerry Washington Visits "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon"Actress Kerry Washington has taken Hollywood by storm and with popularity comes speculation and rumors about her personal life, primarily her sexuality as the “Scandal” star has had to deal with rumors that she’s a lesbian despite her recent marriage to NFL star Nnamdi Asomugha. As E! Online reports on October 31, Washington has opened up about the lesbian rumors.

In the latest issue of “The Advocate”, Washington links the rumors to a society that may still be uncomfortable with they see any affection between two people of the same gender.

“I like how people will post pictures of me with other women that I adore, hugging on the red carpets, and say, ‘See?’ Are we so uncomfortable with love between two people of the same gender that we immediately label it as sexual?”

Washington is content with who she is and never felt a need to address the rumors which has backfired she admits, but at the same time she never found the rumors offensive.

“I’ve never been bothered by the lesbian rumor. There’s nothing offensive about it, so there’s no reason to be offended.”

Like other celebrities who are constantly have their sexuality questioned, Kerry Washington understands that there is a frustration that exists amongst fans “when someone in the public eye doesn’t share their personal life.”

But the “Scandal” star isn’t hiding too much about her personal life these days. She recently announced that she is pregnant with her first child.

As far as the lesbian rumors, they can now be put to rest.

About - Tarringo T. Vaughan always believed he had a love affair with literature. One of the first pictures he saw of himself was of him at maybe the age of three or four year’s old sitting with a book in his hand. But for Tarringo, growing up in the depths of the inner city both in Boston, MA and Springfield, MA made him believe that expression through the literary voice was un-cool and unattainable. As a very quiet and shy child he learned it became very valuable in his self expression. Born in 1976, Tarringo was the first child, grandchild and nephew in a family that had grown accustomed to struggle. His mother was a teenager who quickly lost the support of my father who today he knows very little of. These aspects of his life triggered the inspiration of his pen.
