Harry Potter fans can expect a different kind of character when they see actor Daniel Radcliffe in the film “Kill Your Darlings”. In the movie, Radcliffe plays a young Allen Ginsberg during his days in college. The movie chronicles the poets involved in the Beat generation and also centers around the murder of David Kammerer. Radcliffe has received much attention for the film including gay sex scenes. As reported by Digital Spy on August 5, the first trailer of the movie has been released.
The film first opened at the Sundance Film Festival back in January where it received positive reviews and Radcliffe was hailed for his portrayal of a young Ginsburg. In the movie, Ginsburg’s sexuality is explored and that involved some pretty intense sex scenes for Radcliffe, who talked about filming the scenes.
He said in an interview:
“I was doing a gay sex scene and the director (John Krokidas) was giving step-by-step instructions. And the favorite note I have ever had was when we were kissing and the director shouted, ‘Not like that. Crazy sex kissing!’ I spent ten years in a kids’ franchise and that was definitely a moment of, ‘Yes, I think I’m moving on’.”
Yes, Radcliffe has definitely grown up and now fans can get a glimpse of him in “Kill Your Darlings” which is set for a limited release in the US on October 18. The film also stars Michael C. Hall, Jack Huston, Ben Foster, Elizabeth Olsen, David Cross, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kyra Sedgwick.
